How can I claim my LIC maturity amount?

Editorial team Published on

To claim your Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) maturity amount, submit your completed paperwork and required documents to your servicing branch or through the official digital platform.

Step-by-Step Claim Process

  1. Receive Intimation: LIC generally sends a maturity intimation letter and a claim/discharge form (Form No. 3825) to your registered address about two months before your policy's maturity date.
  2. Fill Out the Discharge Form: Complete LIC Form No. 3825 with your policy details, personal information, and accurate bank account details (including IFSC code) for NEFT credit. Get the declaration signed and witnessed if required.
  3. Gather Required Documents:
    • Original Policy Bond (mandatory; or a duplicate if lost)
    • Discharge Form (Form No. 3825)
    • Bank Details Proof: Cancelled cheque or a copy of your bank passbook
    • KYC Documents: Self-attested copy of your PAN card and Aadhaar card or other valid identity/address proof
  4. Submit to LIC:
    • Offline: Visit your servicing LIC branch and hand over the original documents and filled form. (LIC recommends submitting them at least a month before the maturity date).
    • Online/Email: You can log in to the LIC Customer Portal or send scanned PDF/JPEG copies of the documents to your branch's official email address (claims.bo[branch_code]@licindia.com).
  5. Credit to Bank Account: Once LIC verifies the documents, the maturity proceeds are directly credited to your registered bank account via NEFT on or around the due date.
