How do I pay for Medicare Part B?

Editorial team Published on

You can pay your Medicare Part B premium through the Official Medicare Online Bill Pay portal if you receive a direct bill.

Automatic Deductions

  • Social Security / RRB: If you collect Social Security or Railroad Retirement Board (RRB) benefits, your Part B premium is usually deducted automatically from your monthly benefit check.
  • Medicare Easy Pay: You can sign up for this free service through your Medicare Account to have your payments automatically deducted from your checking or savings account each month.

Online and Bank Payments

  • Medicare Account: Log in to your secure account on Medicare.gov to make one-time payments using a credit card, debit card, HSA card, or bank account.
  • Online Banking: Use your bank's online bill payment service to send money directly from your checking or savings account (make sure to use your 11-character Medicare number as the account number).

Pay by Mail

  • Check or Card: If you get a quarterly paper bill, fill out the payment coupon at the bottom. Mail a check, money order, or your written credit/debit card information to the address provided on your invoice.
